Deborah Marcus

stonemilker

the invisible visibles
what we envisage
is to say the break in the step
is the glue of continuation

the softness in the eye
is the piercing break of mind
the arrow of time juncturing
into the jugular of the other

if we lay here, backs against
the back of the earth
palms against the moist,
sodden worth

I wonder if you will know
the same texture of polar webs
that lace around my words
that lace around my earth

linearity unhinging linearity
1 preoccupied, holding
6 all my various parts assembled
13 despite their remarking
10 of the gauzed opacity
5 the other darkness shouldering
2 pre-liminality, exposed
7 or fingered notions that
11 pulverised, wrapped
9 decaying down the centre
3 mirroring eye-middles
8 are twisting, recurring
12 disease-like, bending
14 as the bleeding orb
4 you surfaced while
16 in the gap we forged, shifting
15 inverted, beyond transparent
