Some of the women in my family believe tattoos are sinful.
and bearing them means bearing the mark of the devil–
who will not hesitate to damn you to hell
once your time on earth ends.
Some of the women in my family believe tattoos are virtuous,
Shimanchu women wear them on their hands–
to protect themselves from dangerous men
and reserve themselves a spot in heaven.
Which of the women will die first?
Most of the latter are already gone.
I wonder where they ended up.
