Doğumuna Hazirlan

(Previously published in Bulayt Bulayt:

(FAW, 2006)

Her doğum sancılıdır
Doğumuna hazırlan
Denizden incilidir
Doğumuna hazırlan

Düzen seni yarattı
Özüne korku kattı
Deryalara fırlattı
Doğumuna hazırlan

Doğumdan kaçıyorsun
Sancılar çekiyorsun
Kılıflar biçiyorsun
Doğumuna hazırlan

Kırk azgını olmadan
Yüreğin taş dolmadan
Dönmez yola girmeden
Doğumuna hazırlan

Ecelin erişmeden
Tenin yere düşmeden
Kırk yemeğin pişmeden
Doğumuna hazırlan

Ölmeden ölmek gerek
Yaşarken doğmak gerek
Kendini bilmek gerek
Doğumuna hazırlan

Kestikçe göbek bağın
Gelir büyüme çağın
Kavrulur kendi yağın
Doğumuna hazırlan

Anan baban kendinsin
Seni doğuran sensin
Eller ne derse desin
Doğumuna hazırlan

Sevgiyle dolar yolun
İnsanlık söyler dilin
Korkutmaz seni ölüm
Doğumuna hazırlan

Hidayet der doğmazsan
Hayat nedir bilmezsen
Niye varsın sormazsan
Ölüsün sen yaşarken

Get Ready For Your Rebirth

Every birth is painful
Get ready for your rebirth
You are full of pearls from the Sea
Get ready for your rebirth

The system has shaped you
Piling up fears upon your true self
You were thrown into the seas
Get ready for your rebirth

You are running from your rebirth
You are suffering from labour pains
You explain it all away
Get ready for your rebirth

Before you reach your midlife crisis
Before your heart is hardened forever
Before you go down a one-way street
Get ready for your rebirth

Before your last day arrives
Before your skin touches the soil
Before your fortieth-day meal is cooked
Get ready for your rebirth

You need to die before your death
You need to be reborn while you’re alive
You need to get to know yourself
Get ready for your rebirth

When your umbilical cord is cut
Your maturity arrives
You will act as you really are
Get ready for your rebirth

You are your own father and mother
It’s you who gives birth to you
It doesn’t matter what the others say
Get ready for your rebirth

Your path will become full of love
Your tongue will speak humanity
You’ll be afraid of death no more
Get ready for your rebirth

Hidayet says if you aren’t reborn
If you don’t know what living is
If you don’t ask yourself why you exist
You are dead while still alive

Oyle Gel

(Previously published in Bulayt Bulayt:

Dostum can gözünü açayım dersen
Damlada ummanı görde öyle gel
Enel Hakk sırrına ereyim dersen
Ummanda damlayı görde öyle gel

Arif olanlara uğrasın yolun
İçi boş olana sarfetme dilin
Bulmak isterisen dünyada yerin
Rıza Şehrine de girde öyle gel

İçi boş kişi taşmayı bilmez
Ham olan kişi pişmeyi bilmez
Büyümezde büyütmeyi bilmez
Kendini bilmeyi sorda öyle gel

Ali’nin yolunu sorayım dersen
Ölmeden evveli öleyim dersen
Yaşar iken dirileyim dersen
Kendi cenazeni çekde öyle gel

Hidayet Hakk’la Halk olmalısın
Nefsini körletip terk olmalısın
İnsanlık yolunda berk olmalısın
Kırkların Cemi’ne girde öyle gel

Eye of the Inner Self

To open the eye of the inner self
First see the sea in the drop
To reach the secret of “I am the Truth”
First see the drop in the sea

Let your path lead to the wise ones
Don’t speak your words to the empty ones
If you want to find your place in the world
First enter “The City of Consent”

The empty one doesn’t know how to spill over
The raw one doesn’t know how to be baked
They are not ripe and couldn’t teach ripeness
First ask yourself about yourself

If you want to search the path of Ali
If you want to die before your death
If you want to be born once more while alive
First carry your own corpse

Hidayet, you have to learn to be everyone
Give up all things by blunting your desires
Be firm in the path of Humanity
First enter “The Gathering of the Forties”

It’s Hidden Within You

You are the physician, you are the patient
You are the apprentice, you are the craftsman
You are the silent one, you are the voice
All human beings are hidden within you

You are the captain, you are the rudder
You are the ocean, you are the port
You are the pearl, you are the diver
The universe is hidden within you

You are the wave coming up from the deep
You are the proof of humanity
You are the light, you are the shadow
Every era is hidden within you

Hidayet, you will long be spoken of
Sooner or later you’ll be six feet under
You are the traveler, you are the path
The Bible and The Qur’an are hidden within you
